Higher Standards

Not just anyone can be a civil process server at Firefly. In fact, we turn down many people who apply; we accept only elite candidates who are professional and handle things the Firefly Legal way.

When hiring process servers, we interview applicants, complete background checks, review driving records, and verify state certifications on every process server we have, and we make sure that anyone who wants to serve at Firefly has a complete understanding and acceptance of Firefly’s rigorous procedures .

Our Illinois process servers are required to have a PERC card, which also requires a drug screen, fingerprints, and a 20-hour security guard training class. We also continuously review our process servers’ performance to make sure we keep only the best in the field. We don’t settle for less than the best process servers.

Firefly Legal’s process servers must have any/all applicable licenses or certification at time of application. Rules and regulations on becoming a certified process server vary by state and/or county. Check with your local courts or regulating agencies to get instructions for your area. Previous experience preferred, but not necessary. Applicants must have reliable transportation; smart phone with internet access, camera, and GPS function; laptop or PC with internet access and printer; be willing to submit to a background check and drug test.
